We’re (almost) off

We are heading off tomorrow.

I finished work today. My brain was fried after checking off my work to do list. As I walked in the door “what groceries do you want to take?” Chris is the shopper in the family, I’m the washer. I’ve got nothing so I say “I’ll come with you.” We have to get used to doing things together anyway. Today, our shopping / washing worlds collided for the first time in a while.

We headed off for our last Aldi shop. We won’t see one for weeks.

The race-the-Aldi-checkout-person race was much easier with two people throwing stuff in bags. But it turns out you don’t throw stuff in bags. You place neatly with similar things. Chris was very offput by my throwing technique. “You don’t know how to pack bags!!”

As we were driving home Chris asked me “what are we doing about washing.” “Well – I’ve got pegs and powder…” “But what are you carrying the washing in?” Pause. “Um, the washing bag…” “You mean the dirty, smelly washing bag.” “Yes.” Pause. “Maybe I haven’t thought that through.” “You’re the washer woman and you haven’t worked out what you are carrying the clean washing in. I can see this trip is going to be disastrous!” It will only be disastrous if Chris doesn’t hang the socks properly.
